A longtime Tennessee resident, Mary Phillipa Sledge possesses extensive experience in the motion picture industry. She most recently served as set decoration assistant for the 2009 Disney Studios film “Secretariat.” An avid equestrian, Mary Phillipa Sledge also served as managing editor of the National publication The Saddle Horse Report. She rides horses of all breeds and is a member of the Shelby County Humane Society, and she also maintains support of the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Memphis.
Mary Phillipa Sledge completed her bachelor’s degree in French and psychology at Duke University magna cum laude and subsequently completed graduate work towards her MBA at Southern Methodist University. Early in her career, she led the Memphis advertising and publicity firm P.S., Inc., and produced and wrote for the Dallas marketing company Evans Communications, Inc. Over the years, she has creatively contributed to various feature films, including “The Quick and the Dead” and Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Rainmaker.”
